The Lake Allatoona Association in Acworth is in need of arts and crafts vendors for their October Fest on Saturday, October 24 from 3 – 10:00 pm. The festival website is www.galakeview.com. Spaces are as follows: 12×12 is $100 and a 24×12 is $200. Limited Power is available.

Artists Sought for Art Group’s 48th Founders Exhibition
NAPLES (Sept. 3)-The Naples Art Association at The von Liebig Art Center has issued a Call for Artists for its 48th Founders Juried Awards Exhibition, which will be on view Oct. 31 through Dec. 2. The exhibition will feature current work in ten media categories by Naples Art Association member artists (new member artists are welcome to join the association and participate in the exhibition) and will be juried by Daniel Stetson, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, FL. Stetson will present a free public lecture on Oct. 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Norris Center to discuss art, his extensive career and the exhibition. Cash awards totaling $2,500 will be distributed at the exhibition opening reception on Oct. 30, including Best of Show ($800), First Place ($400) and Juror’s Choice Award ($300). The deadline to enter is Oct. 12, and the prospectus and application are available at naplesart.org or by calling 239-262-6517 x106. The exhibition is sponsored by Physician Regional Healthcare System, Comcast, Happenings Arts & Entertainment Magazine, ARTMove LLC, and the Collier County Tourist Development Tax.

Dixie Band playing at the Art Station – Big Shanty Travel back to the simpler days with the Art Station – Big Shanty on Saturday, August 22 from 7-9pm as we end our Melodies in the Meadow summer concert series with the fabulous sounds of traditional New Orleans Dixieland music performed by the Army Ground Forces Dixie Band. You will need to bring a chair or a blanket (and a picnic if you want!) to this free outdoor concert.

Come Join us at the Booth Art Academy for our “meet the artist” reception and demonstration. Bill Davidson will be discussing what makes a painting really work with a vignette demonstration. He will Simplify the process of how to feel your way into a good composition, how to organize these shapes into simple value patterns that give a painting unity and luminescence.
Bill Davidson is a nationally exhibited artist and sought after teacher that is consistently accepted in the foremost, national, major art competitions. His work is in many private and corporate collections, including in the finest collection of the French Impressionism in the southeast, Sacred Heart Convent, the Georgia Municipal Association, the founder of Applebee’s Restaurants, United States Congressman Nathan Deal, law firms, bank offices, and the exclusive Roaring Fork County Club in Aspen, Colorado. During the last 5 years, 20 of his pieces have been featured in print including Art Business News, Western Art Collector and American Art Collector. Bill travels extensively in Europe and the United States painting on location.
Bill is represented by Buffalo Trails Gallery in Jackson Hole, WY, The Mystic Maritime Gallery in Mystic, Conn , the Quinlan Arts Center and the Burton Galleries in GA.
