Introduction to bookbinding. We’ll learn terminology and basic techniques to get you started making your own books. We will make 3 books using 3 different techniques that you can do at home with no special equipment. All supplies included.

In this three week workshop, you will design and complete one 10″x10″ tile. We will begin by selecting a photo or drawing and decide which elements can be included in this project. You will learn how to create the background, how to use a “bandsaw” to cut intricate shapes to add to the background, and how to make frit to complete your project.

Throw out the rules, throw out all the things you think is art. This is not art. This is a space for you. A place for your own thoughts and a place to work out ideas. Visual Journaling is part expression, part experimentation, and 100% you. We’ll unleash some wild mixed media on these journals. You’ll learn to take a blank page and turn it into an expression of yourself with simple, cheap things you probably already have around the house incorporating words and images. Lose yourself in mixed media for a while. Journal included.
KUMIHIMO

Learn this fun Japanese braiding technique. Can be used for necklaces, bracelets, cords for purses etc. A great portable summer craft.
GLASS FUSING – JEWELRY

In this 3 week workshop, we will explore the different textures available in jewelry making. We will be using “Dichroic” glass to accent our pieces. We will also make one “puzzle” pendant, using the bandsaw.
SCARF IN A DAY

Warp a small loom and weave a scarf and finish in class. Choose from a wide array of colors and fibers.
FELTED PURSE OF MUG RUGS WITH NEEDLE FELTING

Warp a small loom and weave fabric which will then be felted at home. The second week the fabric will be embellished with needle felting in class.
