Here’s our Winter 2011 Class and Workshop Catalogue. To register for any of these classes, download the Workshop and Class Enrollment Form, fill it out and return with payment (or pay in person) to NCAL.
You MUST Enroll and Pay for the class at least a week before the class begins. Otherwise we don’t know you’re coming and may cancel the class if there isn’t enough participation.
Under each class you can register and pay online. These fees do not include supply fees. These are payable to the instructor on the day of the class.

DIVE INTO WATERCOLOR

Watercolor instruction from accomplished watercolorist, Elizabeth Carr GWS, WSA. Explore color theory, techniques and composition. All levels welcome.
OIL PAINTING FOR BEGINNERS: Adults

This introductory class will get you started with painting using the most interesting paint medium of all. This class will focus on alla prima painting producing 4 completed works.
WATERCOLOR for BEGINNERS Adults

We will be learning the basic technique of wet-on-wet painting with watercolor. The beautiful patterns and color combinations will combine to a final perfect picture.
LIFE STUDY with ERNEST VARNER Adult
Dates: Thur, March 31 until April 21 7:00PM 4 Weeks
Fee: $100
This class will help the artist learn how to capture the human form, using a live model.

GLASS FUSING & SLUMPING Adults

BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY I

Camera functions and shooting manually. Arperture and depth of field, shutter speed, controlling motion, ISO or sensor sensitivity. Metering, exposure control, resizing, emailing, memory cards. Review and critique.
BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY II

WEAVE A SCARF IN ONE DAY

Inkjet Image Transfer to Clear Plexiglass

Instructor: John Clemmer
Each student must email an image to me before workshop. Image should be .jpgs@300ppi and 8.5″x11″. I’ll print them on waterslide paper. Bring a hairdryer & 10″x14″x1″ pan. We will learn the best procedure for lifting the images, applying them to plexiglass, using a squeegie and coating with acrylic spray. I will share knowledge gained through my trial and errors with drilling holes, mounting to white opaque plexiglass and more.
